Universal 360
Universal Studios Florida (2006)
In association with Thinkwell Design and Production, Tom directed and led the creative team to create “Universal 360 - A Cinesphere Spectacular”. From concept to opening in just 12 weeks, it was an entertainment experience that made the power of the movies bigger than life.
The nightly multi-media, laser and pyrotechnic show utilized four-story-tall, 360-degree projection spheres to bring to life decades of blockbuster films. Snippets of scenes from famous movies such as 'Jurassic Park,' 'Back to the Future,' and 'E.T.' play out on the surfaces of 4 cinespheres afloat in the lagoon.
The show, the largest of its Kind in the United States, incorporates internal projections on to the spheres, facade projections created with architectural laser mapping, pyrotechnics and eight of the most advanced high powered diode lasers in theatrical application.
The projections reinforced with lasers and pyrotechnics erupting around the lagoon, supported by a booming original soundtrack pumped through 300 speakers achieved the creative intent of an immersive, never seen before exhilarating guest experience.
